What are wedding mood boards? Mood boards are physical or digital collages of arranged images, materials, text, and other design elements that represents a final design’s style. They can be used to make brand designs, product designs, website designs, and even wedding designs! You are creating the “mood” of your wedding and telling your story as a couple through your designs!

WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A MOOD BOARD?

Creating a wedding mood board not only provides you inspiration, but keeps you pointed in the right direction during the entire wedding planning process. When picking out the small things, you can easily get lost in how everything looks when put together. Referring to your mood board keeps you sane when times get crazy! It ensures you, your partner, your vendors, and your wedding planner are all on the same page ABOUT DETAILS!

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN WEDDING MOOD BOARDS

If you’ve read this much… you’re probably wondering what a mood board looks like! Of course, I’m always going to include a gallery of multiple examples for you, but let’s talk through one! How to create your wedding mood board:

1. Gather at least ten inspirational photos.
2. Get rid of photos that do not fit your vision.
3. Group remaining photos in a way that makes sense to you.
4. Include representations of your dress, flowers, linens, papers, textures, fonts, and colors!
5. Make it your unique style!
